Spark of Hope #118: The campaign has launched! In a previous post, I shared that we joined hands with a foundation we’ve long admired to deliver a gift. The non-profit, Little Pink Houses of Hope, promotes cancer recovery by providing FREE week-long retreats for breast cancer patients and their families. We can’t erase cancer but we can magnify hope by easing the pain and worry that comes with it. The American Cancer Society advocates giving children all the basic information when a parent is diagnosed. Parents Magazine suggests that mothers address the range of emotions children are bound to experience. Cancer.net encourages parents to let children help in order to empower them. Our Little Pink Book entitled When Your Mom Has Cancer provides those essential tools, and more! Through whimsical stick-characters and tender dialogue the entire family gains a healthy understanding of cancer mixed with a wonderful dose of compassion.
